A Brief Summary of This Position

The Maintenance Technician position is a general Maintenance position and an individual contributor position responsible for performing spinner clean up, general maintenance, writing work orders, troubleshooting machinery and having knowledge of facility level mastery of hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.

The Maintenance Technician must have general welding experience and have plant level mastery of electrical systems, knowledge of medium voltage (277-600v), valves, solenoids, and have detailed knowledge of plant systems, functions and machinery. Incumbent must be able to demonstrate fabrication of fixtures using welding, cutting and brazing. Additional duties include identifying and adding new and efficient preventive maintenance tasks and working safely with the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Incumbent must adhere to Valmont safety training policies. The Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on all plant equipment and facilities with a learned level of proficiency. This person is also responsible for maintaining and repairing plant equipment, including pneumatic and mechanical systems, clutches, brakes, power transmission components, combustion engines, and electrical and hydraulic systems. The incumbent performs basic electrical work and fabricates fixtures with limited to no instruction. This person is responsible for recording labor and materials used on each repair and provides some guidance, instruction and training to the Maintenance Technician.

Essential Functions:

- Test, inspect, repair, troubleshoot and re-assemble basic plant equipment, components, and systems including but not limited to overhead bridge cranes, hoists, gear boxes, forklifts, company vehicles, pneumatic and mechanical systems, power transmission components, combustion engines, boiler systems, and electrical and hydraulic systems
- Perform basic electrical work, and assist in highly skilled electrical work
- Fabricate fixtures using welding, cutting, brazing, and surface hardening applications
- General welding (can weld efficiently using stick welder) with the ability to lead and teach others in stick welding and detailed fabrication
- Knowledge of medium voltage (277-600v) including single and multiphase ac and dc

This individual joins a team focused on developing innovative products and processes, manufacturing improvements, and cost-cutting techniques within the utility industry applications of structural supports with emphasis on concrete poles and poles of other materials. A Brief Summary of This Position:

This position is an individual contributor entry Assembler role that is responsible for primarily pulling the cable as needed in the assembly of concrete poles in accordance with company’s written procedures. The incumbent will also be assigned to assist in various tasks and duties in relation to the pole assembly process, pole inspection, and post-job cleanup.

- CABLE PULLING: Verifying the strand, pulling the strand and placement into tip tension plate, pulling cable, cutting the strand, and placing the strand at the base tension plate.

- POLE INSPECTION: Work with lubrication molds operators on the group reinforcement tension stand and the cranes. Produce and control the correct implementation of the reinforced basket. Correct and fix the pre-stressing steel cars on the spire constantly. Work with Crane Operator to transfer products from basket to tension stand. Report noticed defects and faults to the manager. Conduct strenuous and physically demanding task for long hours and in extreme environmental conditions. Gather, inspect, repair and replace reusable materials and components for production rotation. Compliance with the general OHS and fire safety instructions and workplace instructions.
- POST-JOB CLEANUP: Basic cleanup duties, general housekeeping, use of basic hand tools, and reading tape measure. Clean general work and ensure equipment, tools and materials are properly stored.

Purpose:
This work instruction details the essential duties, responsibilities and qualifications for the
Material Handler position.

Description
NATURE OF WORK: Responsible for stocking the various stations on the assembly line
with the materials and parts necessary to assemble automobile seats, preparing empty
pallets and returnable packaging for shipping, and understanding and meeting production
needs through frequent communication and time management under minimal
supervision.

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED (The following duties are typical for this classification.

- Moves materials using an industrial truck (forklift, tugger, pallet jack, etc.).
- Manually pushes material bins up to production stations

This position reports directly to the Department Supervisor and is responsible for the general and specific job duties of IAC as described below:

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Wrap interior automotive parts for IAC plants to enable maximum production volume
• Provide knowledge and training to other wrappers, to allow defect-free, high-quality manufacturing
• Support production requirements, prototype builds, and advanced development projects.
• Assist in finding solutions to quality issues with builds in coordination with other Product Engineering team members.

Education, Skills, and Experience:
• 2+ years of directly related experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)

• Ability to troubleshoot and develop a process for wrapping a part

PPE Requirements:
• This position requires the use of eye protection. When handling a cutting utensil, a cut glove and cut sleeve must be worn per safety requirements. Other required PPE is task specific.

Basic Functions:
Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers.

Responsibilities:
- Studies production schedules and estimates work hour requirements for completion of job
assignment.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product participating in Continuous Improvement activities.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of plant,
department or line.

• Ability to weld cores and cavities and hand work back to runnable condition.
• Able to weld different tool steel with positive results, As in P-20, H13, S.7, 4140 etc.
• Able to complete Preventative maintenance on plastic injection molds.

• Able to work on the production floor with tool in press to correct any issue to keep down time at a minimum.
• Knowledge of Manifold systems Example: Mold Master, Synventive, YUDO, RUNIPSYS, P.E.T.S etc.
• Work with little or no supervision when given clear direction.

Job Purpose:
Operate a powered industrial truck to transport materials from loading dock to designated warehouse location.


Responsibilities:
- Know and follow standard work procedures and safety rules for all tasks assigned.
- Daily inspection and documentation of Forklift
- Inspect product for damage, properly scan by machine or manual entry to ensure safe transport and proper placement
- Move controls to drive propane or electric-powered trucks and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.

Requirements:

MAIN DUTIES
• Provide total material supply, cleaning, drying, and blending service to molding department to the correct machine for the correct product
• Monitor and control of complete materials system
• Book materials in and out of the stores using the correct documentation, label bags to identify material
• Blend materials as required for product to specification, label machinery with material information
• Dry materials to specification, label dryers, hoppers, and day bins with material information including batch numbers and dates
• Clean blenders, dryers, hoppers, material lines, bins, and loaders as required
• Prepare feed to machines during mold changes as required
• Enter information into material handover log book for continuity of communication

TASKS
Complete mold changes and robot setups with assigned PT
Ensure all applicable paperwork is hanging at its designated presses
Check last shots before completing mold change; fill out ‘last piece’ sheet
