    JOB SUMMARY
    Under general direction and within guidelines set by policies, rules, and regulations, this position is responsible for supervisory and administrative work directing and accomplishing the maintenance and repair of the City’s vehicle fleet (all departments) and specialized, standard, and miscellaneous small equipment.
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Supervision
    • Plans, assigns, supervises and inspects the activities of subordinate employees engaged in the repair and maintenance of the City’s vehicle fleet of motorcycles, trucks, vehicles, heavy and light standard and specialized equipment.
    • Establishes and maintains a “preventive maintenance” program for the City’s fleet.
    • Communicates department work order information and assignments to employees.
    • Services, maintains, repairs, and overhauls light and heavy trucks, cars, tractors, backhoes, gasoline and diesel engines and other automotive and mechanical equipment.
    • Services, repairs, and overhauls brakes, ignition systems, transmissions, differentials, and rear axle assemblies.
    • Tunes motor using standardized equipment.
    • Services, repairs, and rebuilds generators, alternators, carburetors, and clutches.
    • Accomplishes minor metal work and welding.

    Administration
    • Maintains records of inventory for materials, supplies, parts and equipment.
    • Presents status reports to the Director on the condition of equipment and vehicles and assists in the preparation of budgets and long-range plans for vehicle and equipment purchases.
    • Maintains records of disbursement and receipt of tools and equipment returned after use.
    • Initiates requisitions for materials, supplies, parts and equipment using the City’s standard procurement policy.
    • Obtains bids and accomplished price checks for materials to be requisitioned.

    General Duties
    • Receives and posts delivery of materials and supplies checking for the required commodity, size, and lot.
    • Stores materials and supplies in the proper locations.
    • Stores, maintains, and disperses hand tools and other miscellaneous small equipment.
    • Establishes minor specifications requirements for small hand tools and equipment, parts, and materials for review and approval by the Director.
    • Maintains and oversees use and operation of the Public works pressure wash system.
    • Performs other reasonably duties in a safe manner as assigned by immediate supervisor or other supervisors as required.
    QUALIFICATIONS
    Education and Experience:
    Graduation from a technical school in automotive/construction equipment repair and maintenance with related work experience in shop management and five (5) years’ experience as a journeyman automotive/construction equipment mechanic; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Also, three (3) years supervisory experience and experience in clerical and/or storeroom work is preferred.

    Special Qualifications:
    • Must possess a valid class B CDL. Must obtain a class A CDL within six (6) months of employment.
    • Must be able to work on call including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Must be able to work overtime for any emergency as directed by the Director.
    • Must furnish all standard hand tools, wrenches, and equipment used in the requirements of this position. The City will furnish specialized equipment.
    • Must be certified in freon recovery within six (6) months.
    • Possession of a valid, State of Alabama driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle. Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.

The Equipment Operator may be required to perform manual labor and occasionally supervise other employees.
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Equipment Operation
    • Operates bulldozer, excavator, or loader in clearing and grubbing operations, back filling, rough grading, and earth moving operations.
    • Operates backhoe in maintenance and construction operations including excavating of trenches for storm drainage pipes; construction of drainage ditches; loading of earth, gravel, crushed stone, and other construction materials.
    • Operates heavy truck-trailer in transporting equipment to and from the job site.

    Service and Repairs
    • Services equipment (including washing) and makes minor field adjustments and repairs; reports need for major repairs to equipment.

    JOB SUMMARY
    Under general direction and within guidelines set by policies, rules, and regulations, this position is responsible for performing craft level and crew member duties in the installation, construction and maintenance of Public Works projects. Projects include: storm water systems, subsurface drains, storm drainage ways, bridge culverts, silt basins and roadways. The construction crew member could be required to perform other duties in other departments within Public Works as assigned by the Director.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    Construction
    • Assists in the construction and installation of equipment and material related to storm water systems.
    • Assists in the construction and installation of equipment and material related to concrete flumes, sidewalks and curbs and gutters.
    • Assists in the construction and installation of equipment and material related to subsurface drains including mix mortar and laying block and brick.
    • Assists in the construction and installation of erosion control preventive measures for Public Works projects.

    Maintenance
    • Assists in the maintenance of the City’s storm drain system.
    • Assists in the maintenance of the City’s subsurface storm drain system.
    • Assists in the maintenance of erosion control devices on Public Works projects as needed.
    • Assists in the maintenance of roadways, public right-of-way, sidewalks, curb and gutter and the levee flood gate maintenance program.
    • Performs asphalt patch work as needed.

    General Duties
    • Landscapes as needed to complete public works projects to include laying sod, seeding, shrubbery, fill dirt and topsoil and any other act needed to improve the appearance of a completed Public Works projects.
    • Operates dump truck and asphalt truck as needed.
    • Performs other reasonably duties in a safe manner as assigned by immediate supervisor or other supervisors as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS
    Education and Experience:
    High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the construction and maintenance of subsurface drainage, forming and finishing concrete structures, and masonry skills; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Special Qualifications:
    • Possession of a valid, State of Alabama driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle. Requirement exists at the time of hire and as a condition of continued employment.
    • Must possess and maintain a valid Alabama commercial driver’s license (CDL), Class B, within six (6) months of employment.

    JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
    -Work as a member of the Production Team and be assigned different work tasks as production or other needs require. Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move and hear as required by specific position.
    -Jobs are available in the following areas:
    Assembly: Assemble luxury and electric vehicles at the assigned workstations on a moving assembly line performing any combination of tasks according to specifications with the use of hand tools, power tools, assist devices, and production fixtures.
    Body: Load metal body components into automated welding equipment to form body sub-assemblies.
    Paint: Paint processes include a sealer application, sanding, and paint spray equipment to prepare the car for assembly.
    Battery: Assembly of new technology, high voltage battery systems.

    REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:
    -Education: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
    -Professional Experience: Preferred one to three years of industrial experience.
    -Necessary Skills: Must be present and able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

This position will also be furnished with a company iPad, and a phone, reviewing drawings and specifications, making calls, etc. Assistant Project Managers will have strong verbal and written communication and must have the ability to make quick, sound decisions. The Assistant Project Manager must be highly motivated, as well as flexible, with the ability to build trust and demonstrate empathy. The essential job duties of this role are the following:

    Review all project documents and become familiar with all scope items that relate to the project
    Manage Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on all assigned jobs at all times. It is a measure to make sure all employees go home safely. This is the most important aspect of our daily work and must be enforced.
    Manage time and attendance through a timekeeping system for the assigned team, including, ensuring the team is clocking in each day and on time, approving time-off requests, and approving timecards to the end of each pay period.
    Manage subcontractors performing work on assigned projects, including, start times for scheduled work and quality of work performed.
    Become familiar with the project through drawings, specifications, addenda, and any supplemental drawings or instructions.
    Attend turnover meetings with the estimator and your foreman at the start of each project.
    Acquire extra drawings from the owner or architect or have copies printed off, if needed, for assigned projects.
    Prepare martial orders according to the six categories by reviewing the summary of materials for the project with the estimator. This position will be responsible for ordering materials that would be needed for the self-performed work we will carry out. Materials should be ordered through the warehouse, using the supplied material ordering software, 24 hours in advance to ensure the warehouse has adequate time to pull and deliver the order.
    Prepare correspondence on a regular basis between the PSC PM and yourself. Emails concerning projects must be saved in job files.
    Attend weekly safety meetings preferably on one of your projects with your foreman, or at the office. These must be documented and
    turned in to the office. Will be retained in the project folder.
    Coordinate with your foreman on a daily basis regarding their material needs. All materials in most cases should be routed through the warehouse.
    Manage manpower in your projects. PM is responsible for the hours on each assigned project. The PM should always make sure we are keeping up with the general contractor’s project schedule and staying within our project man-hours budgeted for each project.
    Attend all project meetings and provide written reports that will reflect what was discussed in these meetings and what our progress is on the project. These reports are to be sent to the PSC PM.
    Responsible for pushing the submittal process. Make sure materials are getting ordered-follow up on a regular basis to make sure nothing is behind or not getting ordered. Hot items lists are important and should be ordered first.
    Track progress (both labor and materials) on a monthly basis so that you can estimate your manpower needs and be able to communicate to the billing department the percentage of completion for your projects. Billing will be prepared on the percentages given. This will include taking pictures and documenting anything that has become a job constraint or safety issue and must be done at a minimum of twice a week.
    Set up inspections throughout the building phases for your projects. Subcontractors are responsible for their scope of work.
    Conduct temporary power inspections weekly and document using a card that is dated and initialed. Replace damaged or malfunctioning receptacles immediately OR list them as “out of order” until they can be repaired. Weekly safety meetings- must be conducted on the same day and time each week to ensure all employees know when and where these meetings will be held. Copy of the documented safety meeting must be sent to your supervisor once completed.
    Ensure job sites are maintained at all times. Should be cleaned and organized at the end of each day- to include inventorying tools, locking ladders, etc.
    Be available for additional duties as assigned.

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Adherence to safety principles at all times
    • Know and follow standard work procedures and safety rules for all tasks assigned
    • Promote, comply and adhere to safety standards and OSHA regulations
    • Comply with quality standards
    • Submit and support suggestions / ideas for improvement / Kaizen
    • Adhere to 5S standards in areas of responsibility
    • Comply with the emergency strategies in place
    • Execute tasks and processes according to training manuals and instruction
    • Execute on time processing of material flow

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
    • Timely and quality processing of materials in area of responsibility
    • Filing and archiving of applicable paperwork

    REQUIREMENTS
    • Immediate reporting of all deviations from the target data or damages
    • Support during yearend inventory

    POSITION PURPOSE

    • To ensure that all parts are being verified and scanned in order to be placed in correct sequential slots

    RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Adherence to safety principles at all times
    • Know and follow standard work procedures and safety rules for all tasks assigned
    • Verify that all totes or containers are empty before placing verification sheet
    • Verify that all containers are being staged in the location correctly
    • Make visual quality checks of packaging

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
    • Good communication skills both written and verbal
    • Ability to distinguish between colors

    REQUIREMENTS
    • Must be able to frequently walk around a warehouse floor
    • Must be able to lift 50lbs on a frequent basis
